Eddy Lacayo

Mr. Lacayo has over 22 years of hands-on experience in International Corporate and Investment Banking in Latin America with extensive expertise in structured solutions.  He currently heads the Corporate Lending Latam team in NY for BBVA and is responsible for leading the origination, structuring and execution of corporate loan financings throughout Latin America including Acquisition Financing, Leverage Finance, and Syndicated Loans. 

His team has been a pioneer in introducing Sustainable Finance solutions to clients in Latin America. They have led a number of Sustainable Loans in the Region, including: the first Green Loan in Latin America (Iberdrola Mexico in 2018), the first Sustainable Loan in Peru (Ferreycorp in 2018); the first Sustainable RCF and first Sustainable Financing for a Real Estate player in Latin America (Fibra UNO in 2019); and most recently the first Sustainable Corporate Loan in Colombia (Colombina in 2020). His team was also awarded the “Best Sustainable Finance Bank of Year” in 2019 by Latin Finance.     

Education and Professional Training

Eddy holds an MBA from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University and a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University (Cumm Laude). He is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
